Office of Research Services

The Office of Research Services provides administrative and support services for NSCAD student, faculty and institutional research endevours. Externally funded research has expanded significantly in the past few years, and with this growth comes an increased demand for a wide variety of services. The Office of Research Services provides:

  • Assistance with identifying funding opportunities
  • Assistance with research planning, proposal development and project coordination
  • An institutional liaison for communication with, and reporting to, external funding agencies
  • Assistance with ethical and environmental considerations for research projects
  • Central collection of research-related data for reporting
  • Assisting with the development of research policies and procedures
  • Promotion of research within and beyond the NSCAD community

Research Ethics

Ethical review and certification for research involving human or animal subjects is provided through an agreement with Saint Mary’s University Research Ethics Board. Resources

Internal funding:
NSCAD provides seed funding for faculty pilot research projects through an adjudicated application process. Inquiries on the application process can be directed to the Office of Research Services.
