This program offers recent NSCAD University graduates the opportunity to further develop their studio practice. As part of the program, our residents work with elementary
and secondary school students and offer workshops and lectures in the local community. The studio space is made available through the generosity of our community partners.
The NSCAD program, now in its fifth year, offers recent graduates the opportunity to develop their studio practice. As part of the Residency, they also work with elementary and secondary school students and offer workshops and lectures to the Lunenburg community. Their unique studio space, located in a former fire station at 40 Duke Street, is made available through generosity of the Town of Lunenburg.
In partnership with the Town of New Glasgow, NSCAD has worked with recent graduates to prepare them for life in a small town. The residents for the 2011-2012 year will be in residence for September 1st and are planning workshops with elementary and secondary school students and the broader community. The studio space, generously donated by the Town of New Glasgow, is located in the New Glasgow Library complex and is adjacent to the Community Room where NSCAD hold lectures from visiting artists throughout the year.
Applications for the residency program which runs from September - August yearly are available - click here.
We are in the process of developing partnerships with communities across Nova Scotia to provide more studio residency programs for our graduates.
